Swarm Robotics and Distributed AI
Swarm robotics is an emerging field where multiple autonomous robots collaborate to complete complex tasks more efficiently than a single unit. Inspired by biological systems like ant colonies and flocks of birds, swarm robots communicate using decentralized AI algorithms to perform synchronized movements, object transportation, and search-and-rescue missions.
Advances in machine learning and wireless communication, such as 5G and ultra-wideband (UWB) networks, are enabling real-time coordination of robotic swarms. These systems are being deployed in agriculture for precision farming, in logistics for autonomous warehouse management, and in defense for autonomous surveillance. By 2025+, self-learning swarm systems will be able to adapt dynamically to changing environments, making them invaluable for exploration in hazardous or unknown terrains, such as deep-sea and space missions.
